Re: Lee County Port Authority Police
Port Authority is nothing more than an Enterprise Funded Agency whose officers do nothing more than go to school 365 days a year. Professional Students.

Re: Lee County Port Authority Police
it is sad when a poster can't be nice to someone asking a question. if you are that unhappy maybe another agency has more to offer you. I'm sure there's another applicant who would like your job, take home car, free health insurance, membership in the richest and most solvent state pension in the US. Plus you live in sunny paradise! stop complaining drink the Koolaid

Re: Lee County Port Authority Police
LCPAPD is ok, depending on what you're looking for. If you're retired from say... NYPD and just want a down low occasional thing going on, a coffee and donut job, then this is for you. If you want to be in the middle of all the action, nope. It is a PR friendly dept. Can't piss off the Lee County Tourists now. You will deal with people that will piss and moan and write the state freaking senators(which the sh*t will roll down hill as usual) how awful you are for writing them a 30. parking ticket; assuming they're allowed to write tickets anymore?
Opportunities for specialty stuff are not really there because it's a smaller department. Yep, they hound you to go to school for everything. Professional students...haha that's a good one, I always said overpaid security guards. Yes, at least they used to make hiring lists from interviews. Just depends on the turnover how quick they go through the list(which is also a clue to the morale). No idea on the morale now, it's been a complete regime change; can't imagine it being much worse-and morale was VERY low years ago, but guess that's possible. Nepotism and cronyism.....come on, don't act like that's something new in government agencies. Especially in the good ole boy south.
The place isn't for everyone. There are/were some lazy/useless pos's there. And, there were some good ones. Just like at LCSO or anywhere else.
