Some people show their ignorance so well. If this poster only knew we work our schedules because it is based on high CMV traffic times. Not that we at FDOT haven't ever had to work these odd hours. All I can say buddy is, Our schedule is going to be the same for now and I can't wait to dip in your 208, thanks for sharing, love you too. bahahahahahahahaha
Please don't feed into the crap. The person who posted the "AM, PM'S , MIDNIGHT CRAP" is not a Trooper. You guys have to stop falling for this crap.
Yep sure am a Trooper good buddy! Remember Trooper's schedule the jobs and they hire who they want. No rules there...You might get some 208D (I wouldn't know that term if I wasn't a Trooper) but probably not much private sector stuff.

    Signed Yours Truly

Trooper AM PM Midnight....Oh and Holidays, I almost forgot

You are a child. And you wonder why the Gov wanted to get rid of the patrol.[/quote]

Oh OK...So why are you merging with us and not the other way around? You are merging with us, we are not merging with you.....

I always wondered if the people who comments about anyone who talks negative about FHP our sounds like they are stirring the pot gets paid to say they are not a trooper or they are angry teenagers. Kinda funny but most of the time its not true. They are troopers. Thanks for being the mediator.

To save your miserable agency from being dismantled by the Gov. and Leg. Everyone with a Leo cert. can work wrecks and traffic. You have no specialized skills to add that any city or county police can't do. So how about a simple thank you for bringing a specialized unit to the Patrol. We were not mentioned in the bill to dismantle an agency you were.

Apparently not. You need to do your homework. We have several specialized jobs within our agency. We have K-9'S, Motors, drug interdiction Troopers, and the Bureau of Investigations. Any you do what, Truck enforcement. We have had Troopers in the past that do that to. Did you really think they would eliminate the patrol and keep you guys, c'mon, really. I would like to think we could all get along at some point. How about we both stop slamming each other. You do your job and we will do ours.

Those are specialized units? I guess I will not be able to call my agency's K-9's or drug units out to our traffic stops anymore because FHP specializes in this and I should call them. I hate to tell you that my agency has all those, including Agriculture, marine unit, SRT and SWAT, oh and by the way we have our own THI unit. The one thing we do not have is a commercial vehicle unit. Now that's specialized. I do not know many agencies in Florida that has such a unit. And you said that you had people who could do commercial vehicle enforcement IN THE PAST.

Partner, as a city police officer I can tell you that you have nothing in your agency that is specialized other than your new DOT unit. Any officer can work a crash. I have worked with DOT many times in the past and hopefully FHP's attitude does not rub off on the DOT officers.

    Re: Got the letter

You can't tell troopers anything they know it all. A lot of them are good guys to work around but more than enough have the god complex for some reason. The facts were out there for all to see. The Patrol has been trying to get us over there with them for years for what reason. I think the senate showed why this year with the dismantle option. The only reason this didn't happen is because the sheriffs don't want to get screwed doing FHP's job for less money. There are some counties that already are doing your job for the most part. So Just thank dot for bringing something to the table that the county deputy and city police don't do. But please let's not start comparing specialized skills because I have worked wrecks before and there is not much to it.

    Re: Got the letter

Funny, the old FDOT had k-9's, CIP, Post Crash, Hazmat, Cargo Theft units and we trained the weight inspectors at the weigh stations? Seems to me that Patrol NOW has many, many, specialized units.

Who in the heck are you? My post was in response to FDOT. This is an FDOT post right. I am very well aware of the specialty units that are available in large city and county PD's. They have more money than State agencies. You are very sarcastic. I never claimed we were the best. I was just responding to the FDOT person about specialty units. And yes, its true, any one can work a crash but not always that well. Obviously that is the majority of what we do, so I think we have some skills in that area. Believe me I have ready crash reports from other agencies, V-1 struck V-2, end of report. Please go to the blog for your own department.

Who are you? You started this by saying FHP has specialized units. All I am saying is that FHP does not specialize in anything, other than the newly formed commercial unit. My agency has all of your specialized units and then some. The point of the previous poster was that there was talk about abolishing FHP but there was no talk of abolishing FDOT. Why, because they are specialized. Therefore, I go back to my original statement, the only specialized unit that FHP has is the commercial vehicle unit. Don't go bragging about how you read other agencies reports. I have read some reports from FHP. I would not go and brag.
