I am a resident of Golden Beach and I am appauled to hear about what has occured in my town. I am also appauled at the fierce fighting, pictures and statements that are being made at this sight.

Who makes the decision on which Police Officer is hired and performing the background checks on them?

Please help me understand.

Ask your elected and appointed officials why they allowed these criminals to continue stealing your tax dollars even after being notified almost two years ago that these scumbags were robbing the Town blind. They will claim ignorance, we beg to differ, and have proof to back it.

I am not speaking as a police officer. I am not speaking as a politician. But I too am a concerned citizen and I feel the right to speak. Robbing THIS town blind? I heard the total between all of them is just over $5k. People in this town use $5k cash to start fires in the fire place. Ok maybe this is an exaggeration but lets be reasonable, unlike most of you. These officers may have done wrong, and if its proven they should be punished. But the punishment must fit the crime. Yes any crime must be investigated, but dont try to make it seem like we had the crime lords of the century in our town. They are not accused of murder or running a child pornography ring. These are crimes that would warrant your "scumbags" speech. You seem to try so hard to make it sound like its about justice, but the real truth is so clear. Unfortunately, I have read a lot on this forum and the hatred is obvious. Hatred is what really fuels you. And unfortunately I hear hatred in the apparent responses from some of our police officers. I know you are just trying to defend yourselves, but please dont stoop to that level. I have spoken to many officers in this town one on one, some of whom are in this trouble, and there are many good people working in Golden Beach. Maybe not everybody, I dont know all of them that well, but many of them. I watched a friend be accused by his ex of sexually molesting their children. Many condemned him. I myself struggled with it. But time and all of the facts eventually proved his innocence. In the end we discovered it was done out of pure hatred and she was willing to do anything to hurt him. Instead she was the one who ended up in trouble. Now dont try and twist what I have said here like I see done so much in these posts and claim I am defending anyone because I am not. I just call it like I see it. And I do believe in innocent until proven guilty so I will not condemn these people until the end when all of the facts are available. Besides, most of the things people write in this forum are much more disturbing than what these officers have been accused of doing.

I was wondering if you have an extra $5000 laying around by your fire place that you wanted to dispose of as I can find some use for it. Sometimes it is hard to accept reality when it involves people we know, but as the old saying goes, it is what it is. I can understand your point if you are truly writing as a concerned citizen on this forum. However i can assure you that if the individuals you have spoken to are telling you the grand total they have stolen from the Town is $5000.00 they are lying. These individuals ran a criminal enterprise in the Town of Golden Beach for over three years and without getting into too many details one of them alone has stolen over $20,000.00. Don't beleive everything you are told regardless of who you hear it from. I know this is probably going to seem like a shocker to you, but criminals do lie. Now they are just trying to win the hearts and support of the residents from whom they have been stealing. If you truly are a resident then stay tuned to your locl media when the final arrests are made I would venture to believe that the story will have more details.

Fair enough. However I have not spoken to any of these officers about this situation so nobody has lied to me. The information on dollar amounts I have is from what the media says the charges claim. If this was a criminal enterprise as you claim then why are the amounts so low? And how do you know the details you claim? I guess only time will tell. As I told in my previous story, nobody knows better than me about trying to accept reality, except in that story the "reality" after my friend was arrested was that he had actually done nothing wrong and only time and evidence against his ex proved that. So "it is what it is" is not always what it is. Again, maybe these officers will be found guilty, but only time and proof will tell. My point is until then, even though they have been arrested, it is still only accusations until it is proven. And by the way, thank you for the first mostly reasonable response I have read on here. I say mostly because you couldnt avoid the "I know this is probably going to seem like a shocker to you, but criminals do lie" comment. Im not naive.
