You're a malcontent and you should just be grateful that you have a job. For now. BTW publix is hiring grocery baggers at Gulfgate & the trail.
It would appear that you have already applied for the position and were denied! You most likely did not pass the Publix entrance exam

Does that justify promoting exam flunkees ahead of those who passed the promotional test?

Are you saying that SPD's IA investigators aren't loyal to their agency just because they passed the promotional process?

WTF are you really trying to say??? Say it!!!!!!!
I think what he's trying to say is that:
    - management knows best
    - management knows who should get promoted
    - if management can't manipulate the promotional process, then management will completely bypass it to promote who they want.

It's been that way for many years. The elected sheriff can bypass the "general orders" when it comes to promotions. The elected sheriff can promote anyone he wants. Three cheers for elections!!! WooHoo!!!

    1. The "speciality" IA investigator must do the investigation the way he's told, right?
    2. If the "speciality" IA investigator doesn't, then he's transferred.
    3. If the "speciality" IA investigator is transferred, then he loses his rank because he's not a real supvisor.
    4. If the "speciality" IA investigator is transferred, he gets a anywhere from a 10k to a 30k cut in pay (depending on how long he's been a "speciality" supervisor).

Sounds like a conflict of interest. If the IA investigator were a real supervisor, then he can be transferred and still keep his rank (no loss of money).

Question Re: IA investigators flunk promotion exams: Promoted anyways!

This is a total embarrassment to the agency. I wonder if the IA guys are embarrassed about everybody finding put that they were promoted even though they failed the promotional test? Or maybe they don't care?

Yeah, let's close down this website so that we can keep our dirty little secrets, well, secret! Why should the public whose taxpayer dollars are in use and abuse at this agency - why should they know that we promote any idiot who can't pass a supervisor's exam? Perhaps those IA guys who can't pass a test should be the ones bagging groceries at Publix. Why should they know about the corruption and coverups? Let's keep the public like mushrooms - in the dark and covered in sh*t! And oh, yeah, let's also make sure they don't get to know that we don't discipline fairly either. Whoooeeeee - we better get busy - got lots to cover up and people to silence!

I asked an SSO old timer why deputies who flunked the promotional test would be promoted to conduct IA investigations and he said because they become "beholden" (his word) to the administration and because the administration can control them and if they don't do what the administration wants, then they can be demoted and sent back to patrol. The IA investigators who are promoted (after flunking the promotional exam) now owe the administration and are "beholden" to them. The IA investigators basically become "do boys" for the administration. The IA deputies will do whatever the administration wants and will swing an investigation in any direction that the administration wants. Is it a corrupt scam? You be the judge.

Promoting people who can't pass a promotional test is about the stupidest things I've ever heard. No matter how you slice it, it's still a turf!!!

If it walks like a turf and smells like a turf, then it is a turf. Don't giftwrap it and expect us to think it's a good thing. :!:

Thank God we have a strong union who can get things like this corrected. They were all promoted under the last administration so one more carry over. O well lets get the reps on this, thats what we pay our dues for -- at least we will get something out of them
