Talking 4 North Port directors resigning from city government

Interim City Manager Terry Lewis said there are performance issues with North Port's finance director, Terri Gould, and they are negotiating the terms of separation, which will determine whether Gould will resign or be fired.

Gould's abrupt departure follows the recent resignations of North Port's directors for:
    - planning
    - zoning and engineering
    - and city manager.

Terry Lewis is resigning in three months.

Actually, there will be five (5) resignations from city government by city heads:

    1. planning director
    2. zoning and engineering director
    3. city manager
    4. finance director
    5. police chief

People people people --- city heads are jumping ship for a REASON!!! The writing is on the wall!!!! About 15 months ago, Tom Knight said, "I expect the City of North Port to go under in about 18 months." That puts us right around April or summertime.

When the "finance" director jumps ship, in conjunction with all the other department heads, you KNOW that SOMETHING is going on!!!

Ok if you really understood how a city manager system worked you would know that they see the writing on the wall. When a new city manager comes in he or she will clean house and appoint their own people.

How come it didn't happen in the City of Sarasota with the last changeover? All the city heads kept their jobs, with the exception of the chief who was fired by the former city manager after that you-know-what fiasco happened ($400 etc).

Tom Knight can't even handle the Sarasota Sheriff Department, so what makes you think he could also run NPPD???
