Truer words were never spoken. If there IS an incident, then between the sheriff's office's, ATF's, and FBI's arson and bomb squads YOUR equipment will never see the light of day! "Not going anywhere" says it all about your EOD unit!

Let us analyze the stupidity in your statement.

1 - Incidents do happen. I'm not saying we're the go-to people for an all-out Al Qaeda attack, but there are incidents, and we do respond to them rather often.

2 - We are regularly requested by sheriff's offices, fire departments, and local PD's. Our equipment, staff, and expertise are constantly required at scenes. We also get requested to fires by the ATF; I've had cases where they intitiated the call-out.

Now, you even go so far as saying "arson and bomb" when referring to other agencies' abilities to handle the work. While it is true that our EOD services are not required state-wide due to the presence of many other local EOD units, we serve a significant portion of the state regardless. That being said, the FBI would also have no qualms about us because we are trained by them, just as is every other EOD unit in the US.

Let me also remind you that only some of us are EOD, but all of us are fire investigators. That function is served every day, state-wide, and we are highly respected for our work. As a matter of fact, more and more local departments are forfeiting their fire investigative services and using ours instead. The SFM detectives are better qualified for this, and they know it.

I responded to a post declaring that our services are null and void. This was not intended to boast, just state some facts. Our marketing is based on our work product, and we do a good job, so marketing comes easy. Fraud does a fine job, too. As for the rest, I don't really care.

So whats the procedure for DIF to get their own forum?

dont do it.. the site spews mainly bad stuff and does not deal with real problems. With this Rick Scott in office we dont need to give him anymore ammo to use on state employees. It is only read by a couple of disgrunted employees who would not be happy anywhere!
