    Open positions?

Wanted to know about the Dep. I am looking to leave South Florida and join the Dep there. Im currently a LEO with a local Dep in Miami, and just want to get out of this jungle here. I have a takehome and good pension, but trying to raise kids would be horriable. Just wanted to know the real deal before I make the move there or somewhere else. Thanks

WARNING!!! WARNING!!!! DO NOT APPLY TO THE ST PETE BEACH POLICE DEPT!!! This place has become a free-for-all! No leadership (our chief hides and does not hold anyone accountable for their actions), every squad does whatever the feel like, policy manual is NEVER followed. The city is trying to destroy our pension as we speak because they are on the verge of bankruptcy and are trying to cut everything they can. At the rate our city and department are going, we will not be here within 5 years. Everyone that is close to retiring is telling the newer officers to "run" and find somewhere else to work before we implode. If you want to come to the Tampa Bay area, try Tampa PD, Hillsborough SO, St Petersburg PD or Manatee SO. We have already lost some good cops to other agencies and are going to lose more soon. Stay away!

Hopefully you will be the next one to move on to bigger and better things, boy. Perhaps you should slap DH in the teeth since you are so tough and he is so stupid as you say.
You wont because you know DH would slap you so friggin hard that your face would wind up on the back of your fat head.
    Or you could just STFU.

We need to stop the stupid posts and ban together to fight the city on these pension changes. Even though, the CM doesn't like us, it's still a decent place to work.

Leo affairs is probably not the best site to seek this info. Too many angry cops venting. Do research. Look at the union contracts, and the history of pension funds for the agencies in Tampa Bay. Look at leadership, and what agencies stand behind their officers. Then do ride alongs, you know you can get great info this way. The larger agencies are probably the only one who will never have layoffs bc of their size. Look into Tampa, hillsborough county, Clearwater, and even Polk county. Tampa and HCSO are hiring non stop and are outstanding places. Good luck
