Sink might not be the best choice, but the alternative is a sure bet that your retirement and other benefits will be drastically changed. Countibutions up, benefits down and a lot longer before you can retire. He beleives public servants should put in their time just as the corporate world.

"I am a mortgage fraud investigator and our office works directly for Alex Sink. She is reasonable with her expectations, fair, and communicates well. Frankly, she is the best boss I've had yet. Our office has been very aggressive in going after these white collar con artists. I know what it's like to try to enforce the law without the support of admin since I am a retired SPPD LEO. Believe me, Sink gives you the tools and funding necessary to get the job done.

Forget about politics. Vote for someone with backbone. Vote Sink."

No way my friend, not my vote.

Didn't your Sink hire a Colonel who routinely threatened, cussed out, and harassed her employees? Sink did nothing to protect those employees and allowed the Colonel to retire without closing out the internal investigation that was underway. How about her hand picked deputy who enjoyed shouting and screaming at employees and addressed a staff meeting by repeatedly calling supervisors stupid?

Come on man/woman you don’t really work for Sink. Not a single detective reports to her directly.

That is not leadership that supports law enforcement. She also conducted promotional examinations and when the people she wanted weren’t on the list, she dumped the list and promoted folks who never took the exam. Where was your Sink or the PBA on that issue? What we have here is a union leadership in Tallahassee who is too friendly with a handful of politicians and has not been looking out for the membership.

I can not nor will I cast my vote for Sink. She lacks leadership and fails to demonstrate any type of command and control over her hand picked subordinates.

This PBA member will vote for Scott.

My God, what a theory, expecting a day's pay for a day's work! If the taxpayers (customers) who pay our wages have to work for their pay, they expect us to earn our pay as well--no free or half price retirements.

Holy Cow! What is this state coming to? Next they will expect us to be paid based upon market conditions and not socialism. I don't know if I can stand having to work like the rest of the nation and not be able to retire 15 years prior to the average worker in this nation.

You are obviously not a public servant. If you were you would be well aware that it would be virtually impossible for many police officers to work until age 62. Even after 25 years the constant stress and abuse of the body takes an unforgiven toll. In fact the good pensions you are so against are calculated with the knowledge that most police officers don't live long after retirement. So I say to you-feel free to walk a mile in my shoes then cast . Oh and I don't mean taking a tour of the station in the middle of a weekday- come ride along on the evening shift over a weekend. Your life will be changed forever.

WRONG. Wow, "pity-potter," you make it so easy. Fact: I've got more than 20 years LE on the road. I hate the phrase "public servant, I am employed by the taxpayers doing LEO work. I started LE ON THE ROAD at age 29 having already earned my BS and a graduate degree in business going to classes on MY TIME from a major Northeastern U and had a middle management position in the "private" sector. I plan to WORK until age 63 (that's about the same as the average for the private sector to retire (males).

Frankly, I am sick and tired of hearing about the stress of this job. Having been a middle manager in business for a number of years prior to LE, I can tell ---you clearly have no idea about the high level of 24-7 job- stressfulness with "private sector" jobs. I enjoy my LEO functions, have high activity, have promoted (and still have high street activity!) and expect to enjoy the job for another 14 or 15 years. I have healthy hobbies, manage my family's funds to live well within our income, and keep the little $hit in its rightful place. I do worry about the major stuff, but following policy has kept me free from incompetent staff/administrators --well, at least so far [granted sppd has some real loser administrators who were clearly never selected for their abilities, accomplishments, nor merit ---and that is frustrating].

So, get off the pity-pot; Yes it's a job with some physical and emotional stress and demands. BUT, I HATE TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO TELL YOU THIS, MOST JOBS TODAY THAT PAY MORE THAN $50K PER YEAR ----HAVE S T R E S S, and lots of them have a lot more stress than being a LEO. The free market is a tough taskmaster; how would you like to worry your family EVERY week as to whether or not you will have a job next month!?!? That's stress, no union, no step plan, no defined benefits PENSION, and knowing that your job is "employment --at-will!"

Whomever led you to believe that working as a LEO for 25 or 30 years and then entering retirement and life of leisure at age 55-- is lying to you ! Sorry to break your bubble. It's a new economy out there. Plan to work and be glad you can work.

PBS, FOP, and Correctional Officers endorse Sink

Anyone can manipulate statistics. Your opinion means little.

FACTS support Sink. Here's why: Rick Scott is a con artist who defrauded millions. His economic plan has been studied by impartial economists and simply would bankrupt gov't. Correctional officers this weekend oppose him because he would dismantle the jail and less criminals would get incarcerated.

John Womer, formerly a major at SPPD who was admired for his honesty among "integrity challenged" staff members, works in the Fraud Division of the Dept of Financial Services representing Alex Sink. He and his staff have been equipped to do the job.

Now ask yourself how Scott, a man accused of THE NATION'S LARGEST FRAUD, would staff that budget? How receptive would Scott be to law enforcement?!

Check out the investigative articles done on Scott. Even at a Tea Party fundraiser among his supporters in Bradenton on Saturday, he refused to provide a straight answer on his involvement to a supporter who said he had a couple questions. Scott took the 5th Amendment 75 times and refused to answer questions.

Is THAT who you want running the state?

    The real Facts are:

Rick Scott was never investigated or interviewed, or even contacted by investigators. No Probable Cause, No Beyond Reasonable Doubt, Nothing.

Don't these so called "Police Officers" believe in Innocent until proven Guilty?

Or are Unsubstantiated Allegations all that is needed to ASSume Guilt?

Tampa PD wants out of the AD because it's giving them a black eye.

The PBA and FOP supporting her is just another example of the out of touch leaders not supporting the will of the troops on the ground.

Re: Florida PBA and Fraternal Order of Police endorse Alex Sink

Sink appointed a Director who would call cops by phone and threaten them with termination while screaming and cussing them out. Sink did nothing about the situation and a lot of good guys quit over it. Once the Inspector General’s office began an official investigation into the allegations, Sink let her retire without completing the investigation.

    That is not leadership.

Don't vote for a con artist

    Dear "FACTS,

Rick Scott WAS investigated for fraud and took the 5th amendment 75 times. He refused to answer on the grounds that providing information would INCRIMINATE him. That's what he thought about his actions.....that they would land him in jail. He took the 5th amendment not once, not a dozen times, but SEVENTY-FIVE times.

Vote for whomever you want. You probably also believe Goliath Davis did not drive drunk, that SPPD is improving everyday, and Rick Baker was a wonderful mayor.

Let me just ask you one thing: you're NOT a detective conducting criminal investigations, right????
