Albert Einstein - A Union Member

Albert Einstein, Time magazine's "Person of the 20th Century" was a visionary scientist, philosopher, teacher -- and a union member. In fact, he was a founding member of the Princeton Federation of Teachers Local 552, signing its charter in 1938.

    When asked why he joined:

"I consider it important, indeed urgently necessary, for intellectual workers to get together, both to protect their own economic status and . . . to secure their influence in the political field." – Albert Einstein

In 1938 there were no federal laws protecting the rights of workers. Since that time the unions ahve affectively changed federal law and guarentees are now afforded to the employee, thus, the role of the union has been sucessfully completed. Anything else a union does is without power or authority.

Unions are outdated and have no more useful purpose!

If Einstein were alive today he would keep his money in his pocket; after all, he had to look up his home phone number in a phone book. When asked why he stated that he did not want to WASTE his brain cells on something that was already recorded.

Unions spend 90% of their time protecting 10% of the employees who you should be fired anyway. I am sure if Einstein was alive today he wouuld agree.
