    Here's a new one.

Instead of an inmate or probationer suing DOC for civil rights violations, it's a victim.

    What irony.
It would be a negligence type case and stay in state courts where the limits apply. This is not a civil rights type case like police brutality cases.

No doubt about it. DOC is the proverbial Monday morning quaterback- when it comes to blaming officers.

It never has the balls or fortitude to make critical decisions and passes those decision down to officers.

And this is the perfect illustration. It has everything that's wrong with the chain of command. An officer recommends a warrantless arrest, the supervisor disagrees then retires, fully suporting her ****ed up decision.

And when the time came to point the finger at the chain, we find the only thing we did wrong in this case was a G02.

And no doubt Jennifer Marino is guilty and the trial et al (if there is a trial) the finding is a foregone conclusion.

But watch the trial and absolve the agency?

    What utter and absolute nonsense.

You might get away with it except that for over a decade people, experienced people and good officers have been telling the chain of command that an incident like this was going to happen because it did not support the protect the public mission.

This incident has it all- from poor office security, to the refusal to handcuff, to the lack of transport and refusal to arrest. Man. It's a picture perfect example. And when a Regional Director is caught with her hands in the cookie jar trying to put a better face on it all, then gets promoted and then a mysterious memo is put out on how officers should not retroactively change case notes?

    Wonderful.

    You guys are pathetic.

The latest word? Buss is looking at a focus group to examine the need for CPO transport.

    Perfect

We wont be transporting offenders anytime soon even if we are under the GEO group in the next year or two.

Actually your incorrect. A judge has requested that Gov Scott look into this. Here is the point----FHP Transports, Fish and Game transport, Alcohol Beverage transport, even FDLE transports. Even Corrections from your own department transports, But P&P are the only one with arrest powers that do not. WHY? Because I think we are the only Parole department in the US that use our own cars. This is embarrassing and unprofessional. Something has to give.

 We will not transport anyone to the jails in the future. Our budget is being decreased not increased. You sound like the guys that got a woody when the Broward Judge ordered us to transport and how did that work out for you ? I believe there are other states that have the local police transport for them also even on parole cases.

Another historically bad decision by DOC that compounded the problem leading to this incident.

I suppose you're right though. Buss will stack, or community corrections will stack, the focus group with like minded idiots and the problem will continue.

All because people won't stand up for what is right versus convenient.
