I wouldn’t say “every female officer” would have reacted the same way. We have a couple that would handle business just fine. But the ones involved yes...clearly aren’t going hands on. And what happens? They get a pat on the back of job well done. “Way to stay in it”. Part of that “even last place should get a trophy” mentality. And it only does them a disservice. In reality, after shit hit the fan and the officer got locked in, she pointed the taser at the suspect and gave him verbal commands while closing distance between herself and the suspect, thus rendering a deployment of her taser useless even if she had deployed it. And the suspect, sizing up her officer presence in two seconds and realizing she wasn’t deploying it, knew she was not going to do anything, closed the gap, and grabbed it from her. The officer that got locked in had to get on the radio and advise because she, now dealing with a suspect attempting to escape, couldn’t break out of her tunnel vision and advise. And had it not been for that officer handling business once he was set free, god knows what would have happened. And after all of that, GW had to take this guy into custody on his own while those two female officers held their asps in their hands and did nothing. But then again maybe they were using their asps as antennas to get better radio reception by holding them high in the air and that’s why they got job well done pats on the back. Yup that’s probably what it was. Or trying to summon Captain Planet by uniting their asps in the air for assistance. “Earth, Fire, Wind, Water... by your powers combined I am Captain Planet!”. All likely scenarios that will get them officer of the quarter.

IN A CELL. If the the other officer hadn’t unlocked the cell door WHALEN would still be INSIDE THE CELL ordering KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUTS from his UBER EATS APP.

Three Islands Detail
When working the Three Islands Safe Neighborhood District off-duty detail, personnel will be required to operate a marked police vehicle, patrol thoroughly, and monitor Scavo Park while enforcing after hour Park rules. For those officers, detectives and supervisors that are issued unmarked vehicles, vehicle #1013 is now parked at the Three Islands guard shack. The keys can be found hanging within the guard shack. If anyone is found to be in violation of this directive, he/she will be restricted from working this detail, beginning with a three month suspension for 1st offense and followed by progressive measures of repeated violations.
Additionally, when the gas level reaches 1/2 tank, please respond to city Garage and fill the vehicle with gas.
