We still have room for a few more teams and one individual player in the 2nd Annual Our Heroes' Memorial Golf Tournament this coming Monday. So, if you haven't registered and paid online yet, please do so as soon as possible.

As you know, the 2nd Annual Our Heroes’ Memorial Golf Tournament is held in honor of all Tampa police officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Proceeds are equally distributed between the Tampa PBA Charity Fund and the Tampa Police Honor Guard, both of which are 501(c)(3) organizations. Last year we raised $5,000 from this tournament which was split between both entities. Doing so helped us establish our new Charity Fund too. When Cpl. Mike Roberts was killed last August, the Tampa PBA was able to give $10,000 to his wife (Cindy) thanks to your help. Our next tournament is scheduled to take place on April 5, 2010 (Monday) at the Hunter’s Green Country Club in New Tampa. Doing so establishes a tradition of holding the event the day after Easter Sunday. We will utilize a 4 Man Scramble format with a 0900 hour tee off on their 18 hole, Tom Fazio designed, championship golf course. Lunch will be catered by none other than Lee Roy Selmon’s, breakfast will be furnished by Alessi Bakery, coffee will be served by Starbucks Coffee and cigars will be furnished by the Thompson Cigar Company.

We expect to have a full field of 144 players. There will be 3 flights (PBA, LEO, and Open) played with trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place going to every winning player in each flight. That's 12 trophies per flight and a total of 36 trophies (plus the 4 foot PBA flight trophie housed at the Tampa PBA office). For flight eligibility, please see below:

PBA - all team members must be current members of the Tampa PBA
LEO - all team members must be active or retired law enforcement officers and not eligible for the PBA flight
Open - all teams not eligible for PBA and LEO flights

All proceeds will be split between the Tampa Police Honor Guard and the Tampa Police Benevolent Association Charity Fund.
