FRS and City Retirement System

25 years or at least 55 to be able to collect or joint the drop program
3.0 per year multiplier
No contribution by employee
Over time Calculated for final payout Best 5 years?
No 1% fund
Investment Plan allows you to take all retirement money at once or monthly installments.
3% COLA

City Retirement

64 points (age + two pints for years of service)
Start to collect upon retirement. Drop program available upon reaching 64 points.
3.0 fro first 15 years/ 3.5 every year their after
Employee pays 7% contribution. 0 % during the drop program
No overtime calculated
1% fund (Compensate for Over time calculation)
Monthly installments only.
COLA After four year of retirement/ Set amount

FRS advantage is that you could take it to other Police Departments or government jobs that use the FRS system.

SOUNDS THAT THRE FRS IS BETTER FOR ME

then join the county. FRS come to the MPD, no more 1% kids. be careful what you wish for as you may get it.
