every study here consists of small departments, i think the biggest study here was on a sheriffs dept. with 40 officers. how many do we have on the road again?

I think the Correction officers and Deputies both need to grow up. Both parties have their place in the legal process, for correction officers to think they are equal to deputies or police officers is kind of naive. Correction Officers play a important role in the legal process but you still have oranges to apples. Keep in mind neither party is better then the other and should never be compared that way. Most Deputies will admit they would not want a job as a correction deputy, and most correction officers want to Deputy not a correction officer.

As for the take home vehicles, remember when the Mayor of Tampa Sandy Freeman took away take home cars and cost the city of tampa a lot of money. The City went back to take home cars, Now compare the number of vehicles the City of tampa has to your fleet if you want numbers. Be thankful for what you have and quit fighting.

"feel equal to deputies" you guys will never get it will you. we are deputies, are you that dumb for me to have to explain it to you. we have been deputized, dont get the word "patrol" mixed up with "deputy" next time you guys walk in the jail take the time to read the patch on our sleeve, or save your time and read the patch on your sleeve because its the same one. there is a reason our pay is the same, our insurance is the same, and our pension is the same, we have the same title with a different job description. i know most of you out their dont want to agree with me because you look down on us for unknown reasons. but get over your selves if i was offered a raise to work patrol i would tell them to kiss my a@@ because patrol sucks thats why it is the hardest area withing the agency to keep staffed. im surprised i have to explain this to high school graduates but then again most of you guys on the road only have a high school education and sometimes need others to go into extra detail to help you understand things.
