I know that we have quite a few military veterans in the Sheriff's Office. It is quite possible that many of you are not aware that you are now eligible to obtain insurance and financial services from USAA.

Created in 1922 by 25 military officers who could not find affordable car insurance, for decades membership in the insurance pool was limited to officers. Sometime around the 1970's they added Agents of the Secret Service and the FBI to membership. More recently they added enlisted personnel who retired from the service.

Now, they have added eligibility for all military personnel who have honorably separated from the military since January 1, 1996.

This could be important to you who are in the Sheriff's Office who qualify because generally speaking their car insurance rates are outstanding. For decades I have insured my vehicles, boats and home with USAA. I also have a USAA credit card.

Among available services are:

INSURANCE - Auto, Home, Life, etc.
BANKING - Free checking, free ATM world wide, no fee Credit Cards, etc.
INVESTING - Brokerage accounts, Mutual Funds, etc.

If you qualify I recommend that you check out their web site at https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_utils/...s_and_services

While you are there also check out the page that describes the company at https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_utils/...bout_usaa_page

If you give USAA a look you might find coverage and rates superior to what you now have.

Best wishes,

Carl
