FWC hiring procedures

We don't need a Socialist who repays certain bigwigs who got him elected with so-called Stimulus money, and creates government projects which are a temporary fix to the unemployment problem. You rednecks continue to scare me. Your guys ran this country's economy into the ground and drove the deficit to the moon yet you still want to blame the new guy. Yeah, everything was great three months ago!

If Obama wants to get my attention, he needs to do and admit a few things

1.) Immigration needs to stop! Suspend immigration ............ there are too many people in America already!!!!!!
2.) Stop spending
3.) Decrease taxes ................. why is he increasing them?
4.) The wealthy spreads money better than the Govt. Give the wealthy tax breaks and in return they will spend spend spend and create create create jobs!!!!!

1) You can't really stop immigration. Our country is founded on it. We need to stop illegal immigration. Go after the the businesses that hire them. If there are no jobs they will go back on their own dime. Americans will do the jobs, just not for the pay an illegal will. Then again, illegals don't have to pay taxes, medical, SS, etc...
2) We need to spend some money to keep the country going over this rough patch. Remember though, the budget was balanced in 2001 until Bubba's crew got in.
3) The only tax increase I know of that will affect people making less than six figures is the the tobacco tax. Don't believe everything you hear on Hannity or Rush.
4)The wealthy already pays a much smaller percentage of their income and earnings on taxes through loopholes and tax breaks.

If we want to fix America it's time we get completely out of the middle east.

1.) Immigration needs to stop! Yes this country was founded on immigration bc we needed it. I'm a 4th generation German American and at the time, America public was not keen to Germans, but they needed population growth. America in the 21st Century does not need population growth.
2.) Rather than spend money, America needs to let these poorly functioned businesses collapse. In return, growing companies will take advantage of these opportunities. Also if u want us to spend, then spend in the aspect of keeping jobs in America.
3.) Tax increase needs to stop throughout the states. To make money flow, decrease taxes and create tax incentives to new businesses.
4.) When the top 5% make money, they invest and spend it (that's how the 5% became the 5%). Taxing the rich makes the rich not invest and in return makes money not flow through America.

I'm neither a Dem or Rep. I personally think both parties are corrupt and know almost all of these individuals broke many laws just to get to the point where they are at. What separate unity in America have become the parties they represent. Saying u are either Rep or Dem makes u a bigot!!!!!

This is an interesting post. I used to be an FWC officer, and I do not think that having a degree is essential to do the job. I worked in South Florida and North Florida. I enjoyed the job, and I thought the training was top notch (I attended the FWC academy when it was still around). I would get into discussions with my co workers about pay, benefits, and whatever was happening that month that was controversial. I eventually left FWC for a higher paying job. Some people I worked with had degrees and some did not. Most of the guys I worked with were competent in most things and usually very competent in one or two areas regardless of education. So in my opinion the degree argument does not hold up. I was not the only person from my academy class that left for other jobs. Many of them left after the first year. I stayed for several years to see what the agency had to offer. The only issue I see is a lack of positive career growth for those that want to promote and those that want to be line officers. Sadly it comes down to money in most cases. I know FWC is trying to (or was) create solutions like the LT assessment, 208 money, and off duty. However, I found the 208 money at least in my area to be tightly controlled by one LT. He controlled how it was measured out. If he did not like you then obviously you did not get much in the way of 208. Oh well guys I come on here from time to time to see what's happening. Some of the posts are ridiculous but some are serious. Good luck to all of you.
