Some spot-on observations but I would throw a couple of points for consideration. Less to do with Henson than the threads...if you're a cop and commit a crime bad things are likely to follow. Undoubtedly.
That said I think what we all want to see is that the "right" thing is done by the office when an employee-sworn or not-is involved.
Examples: The glaring problem is when you have a civilian director of IT who does a traffic stop on his way home (he's a reserve but not working as one at the time-with no gun or badge-for unknown reasons he's given a fully equipped vehicle) witnessed and complained on by a local cop from another agency to downtown and NOTHING is done for impersonating a leo/felony except getting called in-it's crap. When you have a lieutenant and a sergeant who falsify time cards and nothing happens except a transfer-it's crap. When you have a colonel's lawyer daughter banging down a fellow married lawyer from the office and he's sent packing and nothing happens to her after her dad gets involved-it's crap.
A few people have gotten arrested, resigned during an IA case, came back with no IA finding???, got promoted and lived charmed lives. Some who were arrested for DUI were under the current administration-some even in a HCSO vehicle at the time of their arrest. Wasn't that a no go that we were warned about?
The world isn't perfect and nobody expects us to be but we all should expect consistency. The problem is-and we all know it-either because of who you know or who calls for you-is many times going to determine the ending. One thing is deemed horrible today and the rules are reversed a month later, a day later, an hour later. The great thing is of course that those same people walk around trashing their peers, their circumstances, etc.
We all want to believe in our leadership but hypocrisy and unfairness undermine that belief every time it happens.

Wow! Well said! Thank you. I been wanting to post something like this but I could not put it in such good of words. Yeah, they investigate, punish, and fire front line employees to make it look as if we self regulate. However, up in the command and executive staff, the rules sure are different.

Are you not also walking around trashing your peers? And portraying your facts as truth even though it is apparent you don't have all the facts? I hope you're more thorough in your job than in your regurgitation of rumors and half truths.
