    A goal for 2009?

    A goal for 2009?

It’s been a long time, since I’ve written you a poem
But here of late, it hasn’t been the norm
Thanksgiving, Christmas, the New Year and all
They’ve all come to pass, so listen up y’all

It’s back to the work place, and standing in line
For all the assignments the Lieutenant can find
Give me my share, I’m ready to go
    Surveys, inspections and even incognito

It really doesn’t matter; I can shuck n jive
I learned long ago, it all counts towards your twenty-five
The road to retirement, is neither short nor fast
If only I knew, how to open a can of haul a$$

But for now I’ll be happy, and not disgruntled
Making speed for that light, at the end of the tunnel
Get in my way, only if you dares
And I’ll be bashing your a$$ on LEOAFFAIRS

I go there each day, to see who’s in the barrel
And lately it seems to be, somebody named Carol
Some of you are funny, others are ruthless
Anonymity makes you a tiger, which surely is toothless

For 2009, you should make this your goal
It’s not anything new, but rather very old
Do unto others as you would have them do you
    And remember you’re all brothers
In the job that you do. Stay safe

I don't post often, but I do come to look around. It's like driving by a crime scene - there isn't much you can do but you feel the need to view. Anyway, I always enjoy the talents of Secret Poet. Thanks.

And thank you Uncle Buck. It's people like you that inspires the "talent" if in fact that's what it is. I wish you a happy (and safe) 2009

I have a theory. The majority of ABT people reading here lack any conceptual understanding of anything outside their sphere of influence. Combine that with a dislike for anything intellectual and you have your answer. The Poet's posts are entertaining and offer a respite from the typical nonsense posted here.
