The call was received at 3:30 a.m. from a Charlotte Sun newspaper delivery man who reported the front door broken into. When road deputies arrived, they noticed the ATM just inside the store was forced open and detectives, K-9 and Forensics were called to the scene.

Detectives say it appeared that the burglars broke in and tried to pull out the ATM machine with a vehicle but were unsuccessful. They then pried open the machine and fled the area with the money. Nothing else was reported missing. The investigation continues.
