HA hah ha ha ha ah ah ahahhahahahahahah !!!!

Keep dream'in "Union Guy". Sounds to me like you need to move back up north.

Those were the conditions when you took the job. If you do not like them then you should not have been so excited when H.R. called you and gave you a start date. Or maybe you should have done a little research about our agency before you took the job. Either way the problem lies with you.

We have the things we have so we can have the best benefits of any county job in Collier County.

As for $42 an hour O.D. pay... get real. We are one of the highest paid in the state. How about getting off your lazy arse and call around to see how good we have it... or does that Demorcratic mentality of "ME, ME, ME" & "I deserve everything without having to EARN it" come natural to you northern "Cops"?

Guys like you are a waste of this agency time. Why does H.R. insist on hiring guys who have already retired from one job just come here to ride the Gravy-Train"? Maybe I could by-off that their "Prior Experience" is beneficial but someone forgot to tell Gale that these guys have to "Work" in order for us to gain any benefit. Most are lazy, have a big mouth about the way they use to do things and constantly complain about how good they have it here....I am over it! Hire someone who is in the middle of their career who still wants to work but most importantly still needs to work; then you get experience with dedication. Lord knows we have enough of this type of cop applying to our agency ONLY to be told they need to start in the jail first.

You want to know a real "Fix a Problem at CCSO" complaint... Allow a real cop to decide who is qualified to work here... not Gale the ...

We ride the gravy train because we are allowed to. Just like the ones who retire and come back after a month at the same pay. Guys like us fought for what we got. At least we had the courage to do so. Rather than always saying yes boss do me again.
Actually the way I see it, guys like you are a waste of agency time. I post once every six months, so you are doing a lot more crying than me.
We are in agreement on one issue Gale. I do hope the sheriff elect disposes of her.

Help...CCSO, I'll comment on your #1 complaint. Are you prepared for the 156 hours of pay you will lose on a 40 hour work week per year? Let's break it down.

    Example:

52 weeks in a year x 3 less hours worked per week= 156 hours per year

Let's say you make $25.00 an hour

    156 x $25.00= $3,900.00 less a year

The law allows the Sheriff to have his agency work 43 hours w/out paying OT for overlapping coverage during shift change.

I agree Justiceforall, but I'm sure the list writer probably meant they only want to work 40 hours a week but still wants to be paid for 43 hr per week. The me,me,me..I want it all mentality usually is not willing to give anything up, even though they aren't doing anything to earn what they are getting.

And to "Guest" that admits to riding the gravy train because he's allowed to, enjoy it while you can you useless piece of crap. You will be weeded out. Daycare is over, we're moving on without the dead weight and the little boys that depend on mommy to make sure they do what they are suppose to do.

What, you don't want free lunches, coutry club membership, free daycare?

    Here's my list - I am thankful for :

    1. 43 hour work week - Because my job / hours have not been cut, benefits have not been cut.
    2. I save money by working afternoons / mids when the wife is home with the kids.
    3. Just because you can pass a test, doesn't make you supervisor material.
    4. The longer you work here, the more you make.
    5. See #1. Add - I can afford my house payment and feed my kids.
    6. My supervisor knows I do my job and he appreciates it. We have mutual respect.
7, 8 & 9 - All I'll say is I bet you were the first one b1tching about having to attend in-service and you probably abused the OT when it was available
    10. Easy details with good pay. It beats getting a job working construction, driving a taxi, stocking shelves, etc. Oh yeah, as bad as those jobs would be, there are no jobs. Thankfully we have details.

Help save the CCSO. Get rid of people that sit around and look for things to make complaint lists about. By the way, how many of those 43 hours a week do you actualy work? Be honest. Now quit b1tchin and appreciate what you have.

    Okay Mr. Union-
    1. I want to keep the 43hr week and don't want to get paid more for doing less; besides, I have never met a cop (including me) that didn't get the 3 extra hours back in long breaks, lunches, running errands, or just taking it easy when time allows.
    2. I never wanted more pay for nights, I begged for nights, that is where the fun is...why would you expect more pay for having more fun?
    3. I would rather see Rambosk pick the upper admin based on ability...testing doesn't always pick the best supervisor; just look at our Sgt. test. One of the most difficult tests around to get thru and the bad ones get thru also.
    4. We have longevity pay. I am a 20 year cop and for the most part, get paid more than the 19, 18, 17, 16... year cops.
    5. We have a step plan, I have stepped my way to almost being maxed out...and loving every penny of it!
    6. I wouldn't say less supervisors, maybe a close look at the span of control in some areas.
    7. On Call pay, you want to get paid not to drink? Maybe you need MAP.
    8. Specialty pay? We are all specialists in our field; why would I need more money for my specialty than you do for yours?
    9. Training? Poop a couple of million dollars and maybe we can get back to more hands on training.
    10. $42 detail pay, now that is ingenious. Raise our rates so contractors go to NPD and FHP for their contracts. Sounds good to me. Almost as good as giving up 156 paid hours with the 40 hr week.

Put on your big boy underwear and get to work.

WOW!! some of the stuff on this list is F-U-N-N-Y....

Permit me to give you my "spin" on your list.

#1 Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure this was already addressed and Public Safety "officials" are exempt from the 40 hour work week by Federal Law especially in a right to work state...good luck!

#2 I have to agree...it is inconvenient for a lot of people to work aftys and nights, and maybe a little extra pay would help their morale. But, what needs to end is these idiot rookies who, with one week to go on FTO start crying about wanting day shift. Keep the rooks on aftys and nights to get SEASONED, and allow Sr. people the convenience of day shift.

#3 Just because a person gets promoted it does not mean they can lead. The "good ole boy" system will never go away, if you want to get promoted WORK HARD and GET NOTICED. If you were in charge, you would promote who you think would do a good job, and people on the outside would complain also. So get over it already.

#4 Longevity Pay...stay here longer than 5 years...problem will solve itself

#5 Step Pay plan...it is based on "the new math" you need a degree in economics to figure it out, I agree it needs to be re-visited. But, there are some jokers who have been here 18 months and feel they should be making Sgt. pay...get real.

#6 It does seem like there are a lot of chiefs not enough indians....hmmmm

#7 On call pay....funny you must have been high when you wrote that. If you can't get shift differential when you are ACTUALLY WORKING mids or aftys, do you honestly think this agency will pay you to sit at home, when they want you to balance as much ot as possible?....puh-leeze!

#8 MY FAVORITE!! Specialist pay for CIB, SET, CID?? are you Fu#@*ng kidding me? what do these people do that is so "SPECIAL" I believe you could take a good patolman and plug him into SET and not skip a beat....CID? CIB? c'mon man! look at some of the investigators in these units....they couldn't find their A@@ with their own 2 hands!

#9 Training has gone into the toilet due to budget concerns (I believe) but, it takes but one incident to send the powers that be scrambling back to demanding hands on stuff.....

#10 How about we come up with a better system to allow EVERYONE a fair shot at working details? The system we have now flat out SUCKS! classic example, last week I was on the intra-net and an e-mail popped up in front of me stating "November details have been posted" I immediately went to the detail screen, and low-and-behold.....ALL GONE! The way the system is set up now is apalling. The people on the "inside" pick and choose the good details they want to work, and discard the others. but, they in-turn inform their buddies of the intent, and then these people snatch up what's left. I think we should take a page out of Obama's book on this issue and spread the wealth....(that was not an endorsement for the tree-hugging, bedwetting, socialist)

And I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree....Gale needs to go...we need certified LEO/CO's making the ultimate decisions up there in HR.
