Hah, Thank goodness the City Manager has a mind of his own!!! Let's not just anoint the next Chief because one guy says so. Deputy Chiefs are SUPPOSED to take over if something happens to the Chief. Frankly ***** reminds me of Obama,-not ready to lead.
The city manager must have some thoughts on that. Let's open it up and do a search for the BEST Chief we can find, not some huckster brought in and set up to take over without some kind of process. That is a set up for failure. You can't force feed someone that the majority do not trust.

It is moronic not to do a search and find the most qualified person we can. Let's not choose a guy just because you heard a voice in your head you thought was god. You could be a mental case, let's do a search just to be sure.

Well since we're on this subject, where are our lead people in this situation?. What do they people who represent us and have been negotiating our contracts and keeping an eye on the city say about the new alleged leader? I have heard nothing from them.

What is there to say? Velong has only been gone a week. D/C is Chief only by City Managers say so (which means it could change at any minute). I think everyone is a little surprised and is just waiting to see what the City Manager's next move is.
