SARASOTA, FL --The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a double homicide.

Officer Tammy Johnson was leaving a call just before 4 a.m. As she drove south, Johnson saw a man lying on the ground next to a car in front of 5136 David Av.

The man, identified as 34 year old Rodney Lamb, had been shot at least once in the head.

Inside the car, the officer found 20 year old Erica Williams slumped over in the front passenger seat. She had also been shot.

Lamb has multiple prior arrests.
