Oviedo Officer Quits After Sex Photos Appear

    THE ORLANDO SENTINEL

    Published: Friday, August 8, 2008 at 7:18 a.m.

An Oviedo police officer resigned Thursday after dozens of pictures surfaced on the Internet showing him performing sexual acts and soliciting sex with married couples, as well as single men and women.

Officer Scott Woodlee, a 12-year veteran of the Oviedo Police Department, told investigators he "did it for entertainment" and that was an "error in judgment."

Officials at the Police Department said the pictures did not show the 49-year-old officer's face or tie him to the department, but a tattoo on his body helped detectives identify him.

A tip to police Chief Jeffrey Chudnow led detectives to launch an internal-affairs investigation in July.

Investigators downloaded 19 photographs from Craigslist -- an online classifieds Web site -- that showed Woodlee engaged in "lewd and revealing photographs," the investigators wrote in their report.

The officer had posted the images between May 1 and June 7 on the adult "casual encounters" section of the site. Anyone could have looked at the pictures because there is nothing to prevent users younger than 18 from viewing them.

All the images, including the ads soliciting sex, were removed from the Web site on June 18.

Woodlee acknowledged taking the pictures and, when questioned whether the pictures would compromise the integrity of the police force, he told detectives, "Of course!" the report shows.

Woodlee violated the department's standards of conduct and was relieved of duty Wednesday.

Lt. George Ilemsky, an agency spokesman, said Woodlee could have faced termination at the conclusion of the internal-affairs investigation.

Records show that Woodlee had a clean record at the agency.

He was involved in a minor car accident in April and was given a verbal reprimand, Ilemsky said.

Ilemsky said that while Woodlee's actions were "unbecoming of an officer," no crime was committed.

So where was the PBA in represeting this guy during his IA? Couldn't the PBA have arranged some sort of agreement to save this guy's job, after all he was a 12 year veteran with no disciplinary history. Guess it's just another example of the PBA's bungling.

Which is why the St. Lucie Co. Sheriff's Deputies kicked the PBA to the curb recently, voting 131-9 for IUPA. And 15 deputies voted for no union at all...so apparently even no union is better than the lousy Coastal Florida PBA!

Vince Champion is much more concerned about his political career and ambitions and he's using you and your dues money to get himself elected into a state rep seat. You've been warned...you mean NOTHING to Vince Champion and the PBA!
