379??????
What the hell is Tallassee thinking? It is good that they fixed the statutes into one but, I am sure they have been in the process of writing them for over a year or so. Why do they wait until two days before the statute is effective and 370 & 372 repealed to get the info to the field? We have enough trouble with the SAO and the clerk now. Wait until we try to transmit 379. What a joke. This agency is really going down the tubes fast. You would think that they would give us a little more notice considering our everyday job depends on those statutes. Tallahassee really needs to wake the F*&# up!!!!!! :x

Exactly, you would think something that important would have been sent to the field before a major holiday weekend was about to start. Not sure many LEO's even knew that the change was coming. Again, so much for the internal communication information highway.

We got a cross reference sheet late thursday 7-3-08. The statute was signed on 6-30-08. It probably was not posted on the Florida Senate site until around the 2nd. I have a cheat sheet with many of the commonly used statutes I will post here. All L.E. personel in the NW Region had the cross reference sheet e mailed to them last thursday. I can't speak for the rest of the state.

I believe it is because the Governor just signed it into law making it effective. He took his time signing it I guess..
