Tallahassee Police are reporting seven arrests were made during the night Tuesday...with a majority of the suspects in possession of drugs.
What started as a routine check for driving without a tag quickly escalated.
TPD says around nine o'clock Tuesday night they pulled over Joey Young at West Tennessee Street and Copeland.
Police arrested Young for driving with a suspended license - and he faces felony charges.
Young's passenger Louis Smith was not wearing his seatbelt..
The officer called for back-up and when they arrived on scene Smith allegedly pushed Officer Sexton over a retaining wall and then fled.
When police caught up with Young they say they found 500-dollars cash and 41 grams of cocaine.
Officer Sexton was treated at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
Young is being charged with trafficking, cocaine possession and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Later Tuesday night a vehicle was pulled over for making an illegal u-turn.
Police found Kytroi Witherspoon driving without a license...and he was arrested on felony charges.
Police say they also found more than 18-hundred dollars and marijuana.
Witherspoon is being charged with a felony for driving with a suspended license and posses ion of marijuana with intent to sell.
