No you don't HAVE to be, look at the current SSU officers. But it SWAT people want to join a unit, should they not be considered just because they are SWAT? I mean that get alot of training, their tactics are high speed, and most of them are sexy. Except for MM.

well maybe if you worked out allittle and run further than to the bathroom you could qualify for both... The same type of guys that are in swat are the same type that should be in safe streets!!

Too bad for all the SWAT Haters....... Just because SWAT is an elite unit that is highly trained people have to bash these guys. Man get a life or go back to doing nothing because if you actually worked maybe you would be in a special unit.

Yeah okay. Go out and be a role player. We'll see how well you do. Tell them you want to go one-on-one. Their tactics are far better than anybody else's in this department. Whether it's in a stack or solo. Guess your just too out of shape, or too much of a slug that you have to trash them cause you will never accomplish anything other than being a road toad.

They are just not skilled on the normal everyday calls when they work OT. And yes, been a role player they do give out a lot of bruises but it’s not the real deal. As for the out of shape thing. Next time you watch them train see how many grab a smoke on their breaks. There are some guts hanging over those scary belts they wear too.
Ok now you can go back to your steroid lunch with your skoal chew.

listen i am not on the swat team but you have to be a stupid idiot to think that you far superior to them... I am sure if we followed you arround we would see you make a million officer safety errors.... So dont throw stones.. What it comes down to is that when the shite hits the fan would you rather have a road toadie back you up or a swat guy whose belly hangs out...CASE CLOSED
The only difference between most (The CID ones) SWAT officers is they wear a lot more protection than a road officer. Have you seen some of them on traffic stops or making an arrest while working the SSU ops or road OT. They are not tactical sound when it comes to officer safety issues. They may be good in numbers when they can plan a warrant but they are almost as bad as a recruit when they are on the road. Since most of them are in CID they need to be working the road at least a week a month like we used to make them before they get someone or themselves hurt. Not trying to be a hater just dont want someone to get hurt.
Is this person serious?
