    To all HPD Leo Affairs Users

    Please remember that items posted to this site that violate the Terms of Use will not be tolerated. In part, this includes posts that are:

    "...are unlawful, threatening, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, or indecent, including any communication that constitutes (or encourages conduct that would constitute) a criminal offense, gives rise to civil liability, or otherwise violates any local, state, national, or international law;
    are libelous, or an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or any other third party rights; or ..."

    Recently, most of these posts have consisted of vicious and personal attacks on one another, true or not, and has definitely violated the above section of the Terms of Use. As you see, some of these posts or specific content has been deleted.

    Much of these posts have torn our department apart, and have put people at war with each other. Remember, this is a public site for any and all to see. We've been in the news for negative reasons often enough in the past years, lets not make it any easier for the media to access our dirty laundry.

    THANK YOU!

    I agree!! Lets not pick and choose here. If you're gonna remove post....go ahead and remove the FTO ones that talked about peoples personal lives. I believe all of those had to do with private sexual relation allegations.

    Yes you are correct. It does discuss the private sex lives of others. Just understand it takes time to review every single post in each topic. The worst ones were removed immediately upon being reviewed by Mod 1.

    Now that Mod 493 and myself have been assigned to our agency's site, we have to review the remaining posts.

    Your patience is appreciated while we not only review, but learn the process here.

    Thanks.

    I really don't expect Mod 493 and Mod 494 to spend all their personal time trying to clean up the old threads. If they want to try they can. It is very time consuming and difficult to clean up old threads.

    Our preferred method is to only remove Posts that violate the Terms of Use. We want to keep threads intact as much as possible when we can. When threads have been around awhile and no one has been moderating them, and they get several pages long, it is hard to come in and try to only remove only posts that violate the Terms of Use. When you do this, then you end up removing others that "quoted" the bad ones, and so on. When you get done, the thread doesn't make much sense any more.

    With the moderators checking the board frequently, the violations will get removed quickly. This way the threads won't build on the violations. It is much easier to keep the threads healthier this way. People will quickly learn what they can and cannot post.

    Terms Of Use

    The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a
    courthouse is this: You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt
    Not Commit Adultery," and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of
    lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.
