Sarasota County Commissioners are considering a multi-million dollar proposal to rebuild a fire station

Sarasota County Commissioners this week are expected to discuss a $2.1 million proposal to rebuild Fire Station #3. The new digs on North Adams Avenue would be two-stories and 9,300 square feet. It could also withstand 149MPH winds and associated storm surge.

Ditto!!! There are several stations in Manatee built general steel tough, near the water with the appropriate wind rating. However, I doubt they would ever be good enough for us here in Sarasota. I am surprised they aren't trying to out do the new manatee station on 26th.... (nick named the Taj Mahal.) Hmmmm...
