Truly as sad day among many this past year for HCSO. Between all the deputies being shot, killed and arrested this past year, it's no wonder the morale at HCSO is at ROCK BOTTOM and sinking fast.

Although I strongly disagree with what she did, I do believe she needed extra protection during her book-in. I believe in justice, not revenge and retribution. If she's guilty or not, that will be decided in court...not on the jail book-in floor.

I haven't seen anyone who said she did the right thing. We all sooner of later do something we regret. I was all for her being escorted through the booking provess as well.

i feel the need to get a little something off my chest i know like and respect deputy marshall-jones she is professional and extremely competent. i was not around when this incident happened so i cannot say whether or not she was justified in her actions, however i will give her the benefit of the doubt and feel that the administration should have reserved all comments except a full investigation has been initiated. instead they led with the checkbook and came out with comments such as indefensible 2 minutes after seeing the video. i would like all deputys both detention and leo who have ever had a use of force to think back and try to get a little glimpse at how showing just a portion of your use of force would look to everyone else. throw in a little thing like lack of audio and see how justified you look. in my opinion the administration showed poor judgement when they threw her under the bus without at least a semblance of an investigation. if you have posted on this forum against her and were present when the incident happened and felt that there was something wrong with the way things went down why did you not step in at that time? if you were not present plz do not rush to judgement before the incident has been investigated fully as i would hope you want to happen if an incident involving yourselves came to the attention of the media and the general public. i do not now nor have i ever condoned the beating of a person for no particular reason but am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. i am not naive enough to think that this has never happened but noone has given me any power to be judge jury and executionerand wouldnt want the responsibility anyway.
