A Miami-Dade police lieutenant has been arrested on accusations of filing bogus home insurance claims, the Miami Herald has learned.
Lt. Alexander Diaz de Villegas, most recently of Miami-Dade’s communications bureau, has been charged with scheme to defraud, insurance fraud and grand theft.
He was charged along with his ex-wife, Barbara Diaz de Villegas, a public adjuster who was previously arrested for insurance fraud in May. Authorities on Tuesday did not release details about the allegations against him.
According to Miami-Dade police, she also helped another man, a one-time lover named Felix Bravo, file a fake $75,000 claim of water damage to his house. When the insurance company investigated, they found the plumber that supposedly fixed the damage didn’t exist — and the receipt submitted was created at her office, according to an arrest report.

No problem assign him to work with the toll booth thief. Oh that's right this one isn't part of the "family" Sorry Lt. Your fate is sealed. Maybe take up collecting Nascar toys!

The case was investigated when he had 22 years on. Coincidentally gets 39'd after he entered the drop 3 years later and is able to retire. Hmmmmm... lol that's awesome!

No more sitting around collecting a nice paycheck. No more free gas to work, from work, to see your 33's. No more insurance for your home, Insurance companies will not trust you. You have disgraced the badge, the uniform and the oath you swored to. You are a ZERO! Enjoy your retirement and pension, You're still a ZERO!
