    Bullet proof vest

Can anyone recommend the lightest and thinnest vest on the market today? A level 2 or higher? I'm looking for a new one and I am having trouble finding web sites that critique the latest vests without them being one of the manufactures sites.

After years of wearing heavy, uncomfortable vests I ended up not wearing one. It's getting too crazy down here in S. FL and my family has really been getting on my case lately. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I just purchased the TORQ vest from American Body Armor. It was rated the best and has Dyneema, which is also very stab resistant. It's on the state contract as well, and if you want go to SPG in Boynton Beach and try it on. SPG's # is 561-732-0360. American Body Armor is out of Jacksonville so there turn around time is fast.

Another good alternative is the thin blue line by first choice armor. The synergy is the top of the line and very good as well.

I hear good things about second chance and point blank.

The most comfortable is supposed to be second chance.

Armor holdings owns American Body Armor, Safariland, Second Chance, Protech, and many more. Armor holdings is the leader in supplying armor to our Military and special forces. This website may help you out.

Hope this helps. Take care and as always be safe.

Ray Carpio (Florida Police Products @ NW 36 AV/ NW 7 ST) can point you in the right direction.

I just got my 3rd vest. Not only is it VERY LIGHT and Flexible but also resists punctures from knives. It's a Level 3 too!

See him and Thank me later!

Till you get your replacement, wear what you have. Yeah you will heat up outside the car, but put the AC on max and point the outlets at the center of your chest and it is bearable. If officers Broom and Estefon of Miami P D had had on vest, they would be alive today. Vic Estefon months away from retirement, was an old Army MP who didn't believe in vest. Broom was a rookie who wore a vest all the time. except the day he was killed. Better hot than dead.

    Is BHV brand worth it!

I was shopping online and I have read a lot of reviews on the new best. Is it worth the money? The price of our lives our priceless. Does any officer have the BHV?
