Back dating of Pay for UK Officers

Well it looks like Labour has done it again, entering into negotiations over pay then refusing to comply with the outcome.
Does anyone remeber the "Edmund Davies" report of the late 70s, that heralded a change in government when Margaret Thatcher took over and our pay increased.
Come back Baroness Thatcher we need you.
Let the forum know if you have comments about pay and conditions in the force.
What about the vote to strike.? For our collegues outside the UK, the UK Police do not have the right to strike, and face jail if they strike, or in the case of a strike in Liverpool I think it was, many years ago, Police Officers on strike were shot.

Officers in the U.S. don't have the right to strike either, however, the "blue flu" has been known to afflict large numbers of officers at the same time when contract negotiations have hit a stand still. Also, when officers aren't motivated to write traffic tickets (which they cannot be forced to write), a city's revenue can be greatly affected (city's in the United States get a portion of the revenue generated by each ticket written).

Mike[/quote/) Try full enforcement!!! if your shift starts at 3 pm on a saturday while a premiership football game is being playd and all the units on patrol made an immediate arrest, who would handle the calls while you were tied up with arrests?
