Reserve Officer
I am planning on applying with you guys as a detention deputy with in the next couple months and was wondering if you had a reserve deputy/auxiliary deputy program? If so, does the sheriff allow detention deputies to participate in it? Is there a contact person that I can call to get more info?

Would they look down if you did it with FHP or FWC, as long as it was not another SO?

no dice
The Sheriff does not allow detention deputies to work in any other capacity other than the jail. Doesnt matter where you want to try.

Reserve Deputies
Out of curiosity, why did the reserve program get dropped?
I'm with another reserve program and want to make sure we're not going to fall into the same boat.

If you are with TPD or HCSO you are safe. They both save tons of dough by having the reserves. If your with a small agency then you probably have a chance of getting dropped. If you do get dropped, go to TPD. They have the best reserve deal going.
