    question from a MDPD applicant

    After completing the academy can you request to work in a certain district? Or are you assigned to the nearest district to where you live? Also, do you have rotating shifts?

    Focus on passing OUR MPI; if you do, then concern yourself with where you are assigned. Usually PPOs are assigned where the need is greatest. If I were you though, I'd ask to be assigned to Northside, that's where REAL COPS ARE MADE! Rotating shifts? Cross that bridge when you get there.

    GOOD LUCK!

    MPI=Metropolitan Police Institute

    PPO= Probationary Police Officer
