    We are all brothers and sisters in the Law Enforcement community. The Police Memorial at Tropical Park is full of our brave brothers and sisters names from ALL departments in Dade County, regardless of the color of the officer's uniform. County, City, Corrections, Federal, State, we are all serving proudly, so all you haters grow up, WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM.

    Proud to Serve (MDPD)

    The Few, The Proud, The MDPD!

    It must be hard going through a career in policing hating a police department just because they are the biggest, best trained - equipped and most professional police agency in the State of Florida! We can't help that; it is - the way - it is! No everyone has the privilege to be among the few, the proud and the MDPD!

    Still we hold no enmity toward those who hate Brown just because we are so good! We know animus comes with the distinct privilege of being a member of MDPD and we accept it gladly! By the way municipals, the County does not pay a fine for our glorious brown uniforms. Check the below FSS:

    http://www.flsenate.gov/Statutes/index. ... TM&Title=->2007->Ch0030->Section%2046#0030.46

    Our "Kelly Green" uniforms (named after Sheriff J. Kelly, who introduced the Brown Gown in the latter part of 1950s) is not subject to state fines! It is an urban legend, folks!

    Granted it could be better if the Sheriff [now a Carlos Alvarez's appointee bureaucrat] were elected!

    Welcome guys,
    Bolo Loco

    Let's see how your the best in the state. Took FAA ordering Purdy to get K-9 or lose federal funding. You didn't have hand help radios till 1978, your detectives had them before then, but the radios couldn't reach the north end station from 5 blocks away. If your the best, show us your 1st of it's kind finger print I D computer? Oh you don't have one of those do you? First computers in police vehicles, yes sparky, Miami Police again. Miami was the second dept nationally to have a K-9 unit, 4th to have a swat team. And Miami had a police academy when deputies couldn't even read. Check these facts out and TRY to prove me wrong. And when there isn't a place for you to do any police work, you can join one of the dept.'s formed because they got tired of never having their 25's checked. Kid, you a legend in your own mind. You guys have always been a step behind the rest of law enforcement in this county. You were the last agency in this county to do away with the 08 system of turning on the lights and sirens in the car ,to get your attention, because you didn't have hand held radios. So best in the state? AT WHAT, CATCHING UP. LMAO at you and your dreams.

    Dont be afraid. We are screwed up but not as bad as Miami,l.o.l.
    Hope we can air some of our issues and concerns! Good luck.

    If that was true, not every section of un-incorperated Miami-Dade County would be trying to incorporate and form their own Police Department as soon as they possibly can.

    You guys are nothing more than a Sheriff's office, and you should be happy with just running the jail and serving civil processes!!!

    Worry about your own crap and leave the fine folks at the City to worry about their own.

    Obviously you don't know what Sheriff's Offices in other parts of Florida do - crawl out of your q code county and learn something
