For f**ks sake, do you even proofread before you post such drivel? Go back to Middle School for a refresher in proper sentence structure, and word appropriation.

Why stay or think about going into this profession and deal with BS when pizza delivery, school bus drivers, and garbage truck drivers (just to name a few jobs) make as much or more then starting pay in most areas. Makes no sense.

Yes, FHP needs a well paid step plan. This will provided the best services to the millions of citizens and visitors to the State of Florida by having a well trained product on the road because of the pay. This would help with retention. But this will never happen.

One theory is the people in charger of the Florida Highway Patrol are saving their high paid salaries. They do not have the best interest in mind for troopers, citizens, and visitors of this state. Just themselves as reflected in the hiring and news stories evey month.

Your leadership is afraid to challenge legislators because if they do, legislators will find someone to do their biding.

All your leadership should say (if the truly cared) is properly fund the Florida Highway Patrol or disband it. If disbanded the troopers will be absorbed into the other departments in the area and a better investment for the citizens and visitors of this state with their law enforment services. Because a sheriff is elected by the people and is the highest law enforcement officer in Florida. They will put a better product on the road.

Not true, some Sheriffs that are elected are sorry and need to be challenged in the primaries coming up. Take Marion County for example, the Sheriff won by default because the District attorney and a few others didn’t line The former sheriff Chris Blair. They got him out, Blair should of taken all that to court but I guess he didn’t want to blow through legal feed and fight it. So now we have good old boys running the show, Sheriff Woods and crime is higher then ever, they work no traffic accidents in the county and FHP has no Troopers so wait times are 5 hours long unless your dead then they send a THI out and it might be quicker. So to say sheriffs are the way to go, some are the problem also. So that’s not a accurate statement.

Thats not accurate, We all know the Sheriffs Association runs the show in Tallahassee but that doesn't mean there any better. Multiple Sheriffs across the state run their Offices to the ground and have the same or worse issues in the Office. So to say Sheriff Offices make a better product is miss leading. Some Officers have Teenagers on the streets (18 or 19 year olds) and some Offices have less then half of their force 5 years or less experience. Thats not good! most have less then 2 years experience. So when Sh@& hits the fan and they can't respond correctly you know why. So yes, Sheriff Offices have a lot of power but that doesn't mean they are better. There are lots of examples now of how some of the Offices are even worse then FHP.

But there is a election for sheriff that the point. They run their departments. Your leadership is appointed. They are their to collect a check and do more with less. If not legislators, will find someone who can. This means put it on the backs of the lowest personal, so that I keep my high paying job for 3 more years. They are bad leaders. Do what is right. Go to the legislators and just say fund us correctly or disband us. Nothing will change with this department.

The pay should be equivalent to the job qualifications. When a 20 year old with a GED can get paid $40k plus benefits for driving up and down a highway, I’d say that’s way overpaid.

The pay just sucks. Especially for CVE.

Are you serious? Pay sucks, specially for CVE! CVE troopers earn more than regular troopers. They get federal money, don't have to work crashes and can work 208. It's no wonder that a lot of lazy troopers are going to CVE.
