BSO Detective Maury Hernandez

With BSO Detective Maury Hernandez being shot and severly injured, we all need to take a step back and think about what is really important. We all have our differences. We need to look past that and do the job we are supposed to do. Put the petty bickering and whining aside. The shooting of this deputy serves as a reminder that we are not invincible. We all need to take the proper safety precautions, including wearing our vests. A vest would not have helped in this case with the circumstances at hand, but why take extra chances if it is not necessary. We should all strive to return home safely to our families, and ensure our fellow officers do likewise. Forget about what ever happens further up the ladder. It is not worth losing sleep or anything else over.

Now we have a second law enforcement officer that has been shot. Unfortunately BSO Sgt. Christopher Reyka did not make it. Now we all mourn the loss of a brother officer. We should all strive to return home safely to our families, and ensure our fellow officers do likewise. Anything else like department politics, etc. is completely irrellevant.
