Not sure what anti rosen is saying, but the 12 hour schedule is far from being a dead issue. better start looking at which 12 hour schedule is going to work for you as it will be here in october.
looks like some need to start looking at day care

I have even heard that BSO is looking at going to 12s to help with manpower shortages.
See we will be there soon enough, whether we go to BSO or stay Davie.

12 hr is not all that bad. 4 on 3 off , 4 off 3 on with a 4 day weekend every other week. 84 hrs every 2 weeks. 4hrs OT or bank it and maybe we could get a kelly type day. Think about it. Do the research first. This may not be a bad way to go

its great here, instead of being on the same side, all we do is devise awful rumors that spread like butter, how about we act as 1 and act like adults and wait for the board to meet with the town.....or we can all just say that we are being designated as constables and will work 6 6 1/2 days on 1 1/2 off

Flex time is something that was invented by the department. It does not require any reserve money. It is not mentioned in our contract, and therefore is not grievable. For example, if you have 1200 hours of "flex time" in your log, and the department decides that you're not getting compensated for it, you just lost it. There's nothing you can do about it.
So, please, before you go opening your mouth and acting like you know everything, have a clue.

IF I CAN SAVE THAT GUY, I GUESS THEY WERE TRYING TO SAY THAT SOME DEPT'S HAVE A FINANCIAL BANK TO COVER THE EXTRA TIME. YOUR RIGHT ABOUT OUR COMP TIME MENTIONED IN SECTIONS IN THE CONTRACT, HOWEVER, AS YOU KNOW, FLEX TIME IS REAL AND MEMBERS ARE PAID REGARDLESS OF RESERVES. EITHER WAY, BASED ON THE STATEMENT, I DOUBT THAT THEY ARE A KNOW IT ALL LIKE YOU.

As I wrote before, if you have 2000 hours of "flex time" accrued, and the department (or your supervisor who, let's say, just doesn't like you) decides that he or she is going to take all of the hours away (or lose your log as has been done before), you have NO RECOURSE to recoup that time. You can't grieve it. You can't prove it ever existed. BECAUSE IT DOESN'T EXIST ON THE "BOOKS."
