    Fla LEO requesting hotel info

I will be staying in Manhattan for a few days and would like a decent place to stay while doing the usual tourist stuff in mid-town. I don't mind walking or taking a cab or bus.

Any recommendations? Anyone familiar with the Surrey Hotel at 20 E 76 St?

    Manhattan

Lemme share what I’ve learned from many trips there. Avoid $$$ cabs, skip the bus, take the subway. Orient yourself to Manhattan by downloading a subway map:

Buyer Beware: before staying in any hotel I check out reviews at http://www.TripAdvisor.com. Pay close attention to negative reviews.

I always stay in the Financial District (lower Manhattan) because it’s nicer there, with excellent weekend rates. The #1 subway train (red line) can zip you wherever you want to go from there. I’ve stayed at these 2 hotels & they are excellent, and very close to the World Trade Center site:

    Millenium Hilton http://www.hiltonfamilynewyork.com/millenium-hilton.php

    Marriott Financial Center http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/ny...ancial-center/

The Millenium was damaged in the 9/11 attacks. It’s been rebuilt & overlooks Ground Zero.
St. Paul’s Chapel/Trinity is next door. It’s where rescue workers sought refuge & the wooden pews have the scars to show it. The church is always open for visitors, don’t miss it. http://www.saintpaulschapel.org/

    Thanks

I appreciate all your suggestions and guidance in making this a memorable trip. Should you head to the Tampa Bay area, give a hollar. Thanks
