Arresting ladies selling flowers/misdemeanors? I cannot believe you are advocating that people who break the law or act without licenses should get a pass. If your own family members do not have city licenses and they sell are you going to promote this as ok? Nooo...an ethical cop will adhere to the statues and licensing laws as they pertain to everyone and fairly. Irregardless of age, sex, religion etc... Every case is different and needs attention to cure it. Any cop who willfully turns his/her head or skirts the laws of the community is further perpetuating or aiding and abetting a break of the laws enacted and carved for a purpose/reason. We are a city of laws and they need to be upheld. There are many people who wish to operate a business but do not have a license....so they can not operate. What...we allow some and not the others in our community? What message does this send? If what you are really saying on this board so far is that officers hated that he commanded them to follow the laws well then we have another issue and this is needs to be reinforced with training. Effective training.
Truth to the saying that people will seldom remember you for your accomplishments, but they will always remember how you made them feel is what i'm hearing on this board. As if you required this officer to 'make you feel good' or you hated him for not making you feel good. reality check ....stop requiring other people to make you feel good, its not their job. its your own job and you shouldnt rely or pass judgement on those who don't make YOU feel a certain way. people and commanders are different and this is what makes them that way, and if you are learning you will want to gravitate towards certain ones and less to others, but you should not ridicule someone who is different...because we learn by this from each other. If you have ever had a shitty boss before in your life....is it because he was different than you? or because he was incompetent? This officer was not incompetent in his overall career and a reason he was selected to assist at the SAO in a specialized area of human trafficking. Career Transitions are not easy...good management policies have provisions to communicate and guide on this...again...training doesn't end folks, we are always learning and growing.
Domestic - if he was ensnarled in domestic private issues as well reported here....this is for his family and employer to be aware of. None of you should have any touting, kicking, bashing, jabbing comments. Family matters are private and for some not an easy pass thru during a divorce. Anyone been there? Hype, snarl, jab and quiet whispers are painful and in case you forget we are a community that should be helping and assisting each other. LIfe is difficult enough, and poking, proding, and painful comments are unbecoming of anyone. No one is perfect, and life is temporary folks, yes, we are human and seem to forget this in our journeys. who you meet and help along the way doesn't come in a prepackaged form and it is different for all of us. Learn and grow but now your kicks and jabs have put you in karma's way.
