Why is it that Tampa has take home cars and USF St. Petersburg does not?
2 different agencies. Two different chiefs. Two separate budgets. To different counties. The agencies were separated years ago and have only shared the USF name and for some unknown reason the same PBA contract. Different logos. Different uniforms. Different car designs. Tampa chief many years ago pushed for take home cars through proper channels with his bosses. St Pete chief hasn't brought it up or if it was brought up his bosses turned the proposal down. You carry 40 cal. Tampa carries 9mm. We are and will continue to be separate agencies.
Hope that answers the question. Take home cars are not part of any collective bargaining agreement.
I guess the St Pete USFPD is going to really be pissed about the PowerBoat and Helicopter we are getting from the Homeland Security Grant.
Sweet. Every cop loves a good motorboating and whirlybird now and then.
We are sincerely happy for you then. We still need to enjoy the same **benefit** (PBA wording) you all have been getting now for years. Fair is Fair. The checks all come from Tampa. Separate???? Only when convenient!!
You are obviously confusing the pba contracts. Take home cars are not part of the pba. You do get everything we get in terms of pba. Read it again.

I've heard the older brother over there in Tampa has a worse personality and character than the younger brother.
He is worse, enjoys finding faults in other officers to get a head on the job and getting them fired to show how smart he is.
He must have a twin at St. Pete
