You don’t think there’s people in other departments that sit on their ass? And get paid wayyy more to do it? Why does everyone think that going to another PD like the county means you’re going to hump calls in South or Northside and clear ten cases a night?
Shit that’s only during your PPO. There are more admin and desk and Fuqq-off hiding place jobs in the county and cities with little or no risk. School board is small and it’s limited unless you get promoted or you’re one of a handful of detectives. It’s a starting place. But being an old dude or old lady school cop is just sad.
And some people stay on the road because it’s what they enjoy, the freedom of it, the lack of follow-up, every day is a new day. No headaches. No 2,000 idiots to manage.
Seeing the same POS you slammed and arrested and their trashy lowlife family day in and day out because he “has a right to an education”, that’s what I hated. And those sneaky scumbag hater school administrators who are mad that the mommy’s want to bang you instead of them, always trying to stab you in the back. Being bothered over some idiot’s lost cell phone? You’re better than that.
When I taser, slam, or make a rough arrest on some scum? Sarge comes by, takes the shit’s photo and does the Use of Force como si nada. No sweat. It’s not some precious little “child.” No one cares. They shrug. I never see his ass again until their court date. Don’t waste the few good years you have left doing that SRO job. Time passes quickly.
