What's the big deal? On any given day the average agent will work 4-6 hours. The rest of the time is spent on personal stuff, running errands, paying bills, surfing the net, extended lunch with spouse, two hour car washes, switching car insurance to GEICO, dropping off kids at school, etc. You should be able to squeeze a 30 minute pity break in there. That is what my LT says anyway.
Sounds like your LT probably only works 3 hours a day too. Time to do some public records requests
LTs are in the office at least 90% of their day if not more, if there not then the captain needs to get on them. The reason agents are the only ones doing a DAS is because their field personnel that are primarily in the field and not accounted for in the office like the LTs and captains.
Spot on even if you totally screwed up on there, their! Also, different job descriptions and responsibilities between line level and supervisors. The Captains almost never are in the field. The LT's have it tough because too much time in the field they are micro-managers and not enough they are lazy and out-of-touch.
your right we once had a captain and lieutenant in our office that had to spend time together after hours because of the workload
