For all the dispatchers. What was the interview like? How long did the entire hiring process take? I passed the criticall and have an interview coming up and I want to know what to expect. What is the pay like? Is it true that you only get paid once a month?
It depends on where you applied at depends on the pay. The entire hiring process takes about a month for all paperwork to go through. As far as the interview nobody is to discuss that with you. And yes we do only get paid once a month if you're applying to be a dispatcher. Call takers get paid every 2 weeks.
If you think troopers don’t get paid enough, dispatcher are paid much less. You can flip burgers at Wendy’s and have less stress in your life for the same pay. Not worth it.
Go to a county or city PSAP they pay a lot more and you’ll have more options to advance as a civilian employee.
