The lack of leadership is appalling. The supervisors are just happy that don't participate in the floor activities on the wing and sit in their offices waiting to pounce on the next horrific event that happens and fry the deputy. IT IS PARTLY THE FAULT OF A SUPERVISOR TO NOT WARN STAFF OF THIS TYPE OF STUFF. A veteran supervisor, daily read offs, staff appreciation towards one another, 8 hour shifts, and a respectful work environment would avoid this crap. Why didn't Hull call a supervisor because he was probably so fed up with said supervisor never backing him up or as they say, "There isn't anything we can do. We can't move them because of classification or blah blah blah." You end up having a match and gunpowder living together. The end result is an explosion of unprofessional behaviour and rage. This is just one of many times the lack of any kind of real discipline and policies led to yet another termination. You are meant to fail at this job. It can be avoided by some but that number dwindles more and more by the year. To make it 30 yrs. Is nearly all impossible. Why do you think people are trying harder for promotions than they are at actually doing the job? God's speed to Hull and I hope he finds the incredible life that lives outside the jail. For those of you who remain thank him for showing you what could happen to you in a split second. He probably saved a lot of jobs. However the lack of officer safety and general respect is going to make deputy assaults even more commonplace. Welcome to the new normal.
