Ofc Cedric Thomas, ex-city council person

Question. How does Cedric Thomas get elected to the Riviera Beach City Council after being forced to resign as a Riviera Beach Police Officer or be fired? According to officers who worked with him at that time, now retired Major Freeman escorted Cedric Thomass off police property.

Somehow after that, he gets elected. Gets in bed with the chief, since they're both frat buddies, then resignes as a council member only to be rehired by the same chief (Clarence Williams III) to a cozy made up position within the police department.

Cedric circumvents the normal FTO process, gets a take home unmarked SUV, Is allowed to take promotional exams to be promoted to Captain and or Major, all while being on probation. And the chief allows this scum bag who admitted to bid rigging to violate RBPD policy and take promotional examines, which is a slap in the face to all the officers that have been committed to the police department and citizens they serve. What a disgrace. How pathetic.

He literally drives around doing nothing. Out of uniform. No vest, no handcuffs, no duty belt. What is it that you do? Soak up a police officer position the PD could use otherwise for road patrol answering calls for service.

I also heard from a reliable source that was on the gun range, Cedric tried to qualify with the department's AR-15. Cedric was doing a reload drill and had his finger on the trigger. He shot a round into the dirt and was immediately taken off the range. Pathetic!

The moral is worse than I've ever seen. Half the agency has apps out and the chief doesn't give two shits about his officers.
