Question for the revenuers

I'm an upstanding citizen but I have a question on booze. Recently, I bought some Jimmy Johnson apple pie "moonshine" from the ABC store. Its great stuff, but I tend to give it away to out of town guests, and its getting expensive. I've gone online and found recipes for this stuff using Everclear which would also of course be taxed. Making it with Everclear involves filling up mason jars with booze so of course now it looks like untaxed moonshine.

To be clear, I'm only going to be using Everclear, apple juice and cinnamon sticks, and not distilling anything on my own.

Am I legal here? Do I need to prove that this stuff is legal by keeping a receipt or a bottle? When I pour it into a mason jar and they drive/fly home with it, is it automatically illegal? I'm not sure it matters, but I'm talking very small batches of about 3 quarts.
