CM is untouchable, he has the juice in VC and her cronies, rumor has it Lear gone and his relative Chief Garrison forced to retire or resign and guess who the new chief will be, VC's boy CM and it will happen very soon before her term expires. One thing that I want to know and some of us at the Department. Why is CM supporting Kurt Hoffman so hard? After everything that we have been fukked over with by the Knight and Hoffman how can our own leader support this guy? I feel betrayed. I just want him to tell me why he thinks Kurt is going to change anything. The guy has basically been in charge of the SO now for about 8 years and what have we got to show for it? Took our Narcs, Swat, Jail, S-15 debacle and there is more. It just always seems like CM is always doing what is best for HIM and not what is best for US. This is my opinion and I am not alone on this one either.

In the local news this weekend it was announced that the city manager was caught having sex in a close, in city hall, while working !!!! with a subordinate and she was the girlfriend of the Parks manager. It appears the end of our city managers career. Stated his fate will be discussed at next meeting. Its all part of the plan, hire garrison until the asst chief had enough experience, Lear will be gone, garrison has no protection now, VC and crew will pounce on him and force him out and from what is told his lee county north implants out also, CM will be the chief before VC leaves office.

Unfortunately, under Morales command the good old boys will rise again. But then again with only the support of Lukes and Emerich, the new commissioners might pick an outsider with less KV style antics and history. Time for an outsider with no family connections Time to hire a Chief who can be more fiscally responsible to the taxpayers, Morales will not be. He pushed for the tank, he pushed for the unmarked traffic units and now the motorcycles, he was always the good old boys leader. We cannot regress back to the KV/Morales era .But then again who would apply here for the Chiefs job after the last round of applicants were treated the way they were. Next few weeks will tell
I was so happy when this board went silent. Way back I thought leoaffairs was a place to air legitimate concerns about working conditions without being punished by admin. Instead it turned toxic much like the culture at the PD. Mud slinging and name calling, nothing more. So I looked into other departments on the website and it’s the same thing. A bunch of anonymous posters writing libel and slander about supervisors and admin. Don’t believe me go and look for yourself. Apparently no police supervisor and no police administrator has any clue what they are doing, they are all evil people with psychological problems who all seem to enjoy making people suffer needlessly. From Sarasota to Fort Myers, from Citrus to Miami go see the other boards and they are all the same negative outbursts as ours. Leoaffairs has delegitimized any viable concerns we have about staffing, fairness in speciality assignments and promotions and so on. I have heard many say that we are our own worst enemies, this board proves that. Calling this guy a liar, or that one incompetent, or the other one over there as out for only themselves is no argument that can stand up to the collective bargaining or arbitration process. It’s an argument that did not work for Bowe Bergdahl when he abandoned his post because of his problems with his leadership, and it’s an argument that won’t work for us. Maybe CM is a liar, I do not know him well enough to say. But is this the place to do that because you can? How does this help us attain improved working conditions? 2020 was already hard enough on everybody why would we make it any harder?
be here awhile newbie before you spout off, it is what we inherited, change will never happen unless the general public is aware of just what is transpiring within, There is a sub culture here, entrenched in there cushy jobs for which in any other dept they would not qualify for, but hey that's life. You have no idea what the good old boys and there network led by A Chief CM, ML and there cronies have done to get where they are. Kudos to Chief G and his crew in recognizing this and finally at least trying to fix it. Unless you had experienced the KV/MP and CM era and the ineptness experienced by us all who just wanted to do our jobs then you have no reason to criticize LEO affairs, because the dept you are now working in was changed from its nasty past to the one it is today because the taxpayers and citizens read LEO and demanded change. You can thank LEO affairs for the change which included better pay, better patrol vehs and equipment etc. So before you spout off, know your history
I agree with the above poster, that many many positive changes for the better came from the discussions on this board. I also agree that the personal attacks undermines the profession. I chose this forum because FB was too anti-cop and i never wanted it to be about that. I learned cops are more brutal to cops than many on FB! I really wish we could openly engage and discuss the issues without all the personal attacks.
As a citizen with a sudden distrust, I wanted to find a better way .. i came here expecting to discuss and try to understand what happened in my home and what we could do to change it. What I found was much more like FB but anonymous. It took me forever to understand why we couldnt just converse and solve the problems. I appreciate those who trusted and shared with me off line. While I respect your positions, i dont envy you being in a place where you cannot speak freely. [Id be fired about 30 minutes into the job!]

I confirmed today that the chief is stepping down. Heard city hall was talking with KV to come back.
what to some seems sarcasm to others who live it daily is the truth. SG you led the fight to clean this dept up. You have to agree the clique or what we refer to as the good old boys club was basically the root of what was wrong here, in addition to the outing and subsequent resigning GED Chief and a very inept administration. Now we have a chief who is actually addressing the remainder of the good old boys who have just skated by on the taxpayers dime. Most of which were promoted and protected by now CM. He is the ringleader per se here. This boys club only exists because of CM. We will have to wait until the new commission gets grounded, but CM is a charmer who will tell you what you want to hear and depending what side of his face he's talking out of. As stated he is politically very dangerous, hometown boy with some juice, (which he lost a valued ally in VC and Lear) Chief G has to know by now how CM is. Chief G has to finally dissolve the good old boy, demote the unqualified ones and make them do there jobs. In addition as stated numerous times in the past, when KV and CM had the reigns there were no promotional opportunities for females or minorities and to this day how many ranking females or minorities do we have ???? How many of the entrenched good old boys have rank Sgt and above ??? Chief G needs to make his move now to make the changes he needs to bring this place forward. There is a wall of under threat silence here, speak out they will get you !!! The era of the crazed K9's. brutality and sex parties might be gone in part but the good old boys are still thriving. CM,ML,ES KW and other detectives need to go or be replaced. The taxpayers have a right, especially with the taxes you pay to demand a professional PD, you can buy all the toys in the world, but it is just rewarding the favored one, further alienating us who just want to do our job, be promoted and move on. If Chief G retires, you can certainly bet on the fact CM will be the next Chief..
I don't disagree that the good old boys club being a serious flag in the past Admin but for me, the root cause was failed inept leadership. I think Chief Garrison has far exceeded expectations in the PDs turnaround In a very short, and tumuluous 30 months. He must be doing something right and his spot is secure for as long as he chooses to remain.

SG is doing what she said she would do when we had new Chief, working on my broken trust. Chief has been straight up and direct with me. He doesnt sugar coat or placate. He is rebuilding a very broken organization and doing a damn good job. You cannot recruit and promote overnight, so is unreasonable to expect that disparity to change overnight.
Again, name the position where you believe a woman or minority was treated unfairly and I will pull the records and ask Chief about it.

what you deem transparency is now and always been the opposite. I have no grievance with Chief G, but, if you are naïve enough to believe for one minute he runs things here and that morale is good, then well life is good behind your rose colored glasses. Do you think, based upon what has already transpired in the past any women or minority would file such a grievance, our union is run by CM and his boys. It would most certainly be the quickest way to being fired and blackballed. Take the glasses off and see what is going on here, lee north wants a real police dept, or what they conceive to be a real police dept, not one where the cronies of cm are put into positions they never should of had. Chief G has tried, actually swept a lot under the rug, unlike his predecessor who along with cm and the boys didn't care what they did or the consequences, Mayberry still exists, just a new sheriff !!!!!!! No one is going to discuss the union on this forum. Also so you know there are more than a few eligible females and minorities with enough time in to be eligible for promotions or assignments, if you remember, that was KV and CM excuse years ago. Several of us "on the job" members have told both Chiefs that the issues being raised are with a few and that they don't speak for the entire Department. You've mentioned in several of these posts, "good old boys" or "CM and his boys." There is no good old boys or CM boys, just those who have made NPPD their career here. I am a union member and a supervisor with over 16 years at our department. I've seen this department change many times, sometimes good and sometimes bad. But that happens in any agency. I don't get involved in the drama. I stay out of it, because I don't let it involve me. But I will not allow people to be individually or by group be attacked here that don't deserve to be, such as CM, ML, ES or Lee North. Your so called "cronies" have been promoted by Chief Garrison to higher ranks. Now, there are those saying officers from Lee County are getting all the promotions or specialty positions when they haven't even finished their probation period. So should we say there is a good old boy system there too? The answer is no, because there isn't any good old boy system on either side. It's perception of some who believe there is, when there actually isn't. People are put into positions because they are qualified for it. If you don't believe this, then why don't YOU walk in the Chiefs office (after you make an appointment with Jen Ayres because I don't believe you even work here anymore), text him, call him or email him and ask him if any cronies, good old boys or Lee North boys deserved to he promoted? Stop hiding behind your keyboard to attack people and our department. Chief is no fool, he is a great leader, and one who knows people's skills and abilities. There have been females and minorites hired under cheif G, however, take a look at how many females have also left the dept. We have zero females in any positions of command. Females do not want to be in a command position under this admin. Period! You won't find proof of them being overlooked because they don't waste their time applying for promotions. Promotions have no bearing on qualifications or policy. If anyone puts in for a promotion and a Lee C person applies we all know who's got it. Even if doesn't follow policy. "Cheif's discretion" and Cheif has built his Little Lee. Just look at Admin, CID, and all promotion since he took over. We have lost some good detective because or MB (the snake) and his unethical practices. Upstairs is a mess with everyone trying to get the hell out. Cheif G is a great bser and if SG thinks he's been straight and she's on the inside of the circle, she's delusional. If you don't walk the halls and deal with this bipolar admin antics everyday, you have no idea how volital this place is. I've never worked at an agency where everyone was constantly walking on eggshells and the moral was so bad. We have a lot of great employees, but when you have to watch your back from those at the top every day, it really sucks.

Obviously you are either new to NPPD or one of the handful of disgruntled few that can no longer skate by. This is a ton better than KV. I witnessed plenty of qualified people get passed up under KV because they were not part of the club. Some people from other agencies have gotten specialty positions but look at their experience. As for woman, did you not even read the email from the Chief. He can't deviate from the union contract to promote a Sergeant. I will gladly work for TG as it is better than the previous chief and good ol boy system. I just want to come to work and do my job. I sure hope we don't go backwards. Can anyone remember the last time the union asked the majority of the members input before running to the city or chief with some complaint. I know I have never been asked. Remember Narcan??

I am in no inner circle.. I have exactly zero idea what goes on in PD on a day to day basis. What i have is a open line of communication directly to Chief to clarify rumors or questions.
let us address your opinion, (1st we all know what opinions are) this dept does not actively recruit women/minorities for open promotional positions and has shown bias towards women or minorities wanting advancement. Which part of women/minorities will not apply then become the subject of possible harassment or worse. There has been one female sgt in the history of this dept and no minorities. How many white males have been promoted in the past few years ??? So not having what you call the confidence is certainly derogatory and demeaning to both females and minorities. Confidence really has nothing to do with it. They are smart enough to not rock the boat and attract the ire of the boys club which you state does not exist !!!
