The original idea was to ensure the quality of the AG products 'leaving' the state. That is still the most important mission however since we have the stations in place we might as well screen what comes in also. The reason other states do not do it is because thay can not. We are a peninsula with natural choke points. After 911 we should have adopted the mission of homeland security and we should be beefing up our capabilities not pulling back. We do need some fresh blood in the admin. or at least get the ones we have to fire up and get interested.
PS: what the heck is X+four ?

I am sorry that I cannot see through space and time to tell where you work. I only assumed that do to your presence on this board and comment on an old thread that you may be employed by this joke of an agency and were some how offended by the truth posted here and felt the need to attempt to make someone ignorant. What Mission? This is a protection racket to meet the needs of the few, while the
taxpayers foot the bill.

I will admit we can be effective, when we know what the mission is.
Of course, we must meet the daily changing standards.

The above in BOLD makes no sense what so ever. I thought your job was to keep the pests and disease out of Florida due to the natural border of the rivers. So how did the African Snails get here and why weren't they kept out by your agency? Your agency is supposed to protect Florida agriculture not that of other States. My opinions are founded and based in facts and the ability to reason for myself.

FACT CHECK - AgLaw tries to keep out the harmful pests and plant diseases that enter the state BEFORE they spread to other states. i.e. - google African Snails. Also - agriculture rivals tourism for top economic dollars for Florida, so yeah - its worth it to try to protect it as best we can. If you really want to know what we do, why not legitimately ask - instead of just trying to toss out your unfounded opinions.
