I've been a bit confused myself. How can a anonymous poster feeling that he is a good deputy be arrogant? Maybe if he plastered his name all over a billboard sign or in a full page newspaper add. Come to think of it, this is exactly what politicians do every election.. :oops:

Might want to look up the difference between self confidence and arrogence. When you have real self confidence you dont have to tell people how good you are, they will know.......As someone who knows......All to often when someone has to say how good they are they are actually lacking confidence and want you to placate them....go look in the mirror....

I dont know about that. I for one think that any self confident cop would consider themselves a good cop. You need to have a great deal of self confidence when dealing with the public in the law enforcement profession. If you ask any recruit that didn't successfully complete field training, I bet a big part of it had to do with self confidence. Thats not a cut against these recruits, just that law enforcement is not for everyone and unless you have a tremendous amount of self confidence and consider yourself "good" at what you do, your probably going to have problems. from my experience, the people that usually call other people "slugs" are people that need to feel good about themselves at others expense.

Know, just as long as you made it it's okay.. :roll: My absolute favorites, and I have a few I might add, were the deputies that would complain about HCSO left & right and curse the office out, which they were usually right about, and then they get promoted to CPL and all of a sudden HCSO is the greatest place on earth. They then begin to badmouth anybody that complains or they call them whiners. Amazing how much common sense and spine some people lose when they get those 2 stripes plastered on their sleeves. This happens at other ranks as well, but the sudden change is usually most evident at CPL. All I ask is PLEASE DON'T FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND HOW IT FELT WHEN YOU FELT BETRAYED BY THIS OFFICE, a office that you gave everything to and then one day new leadership came in and changed so many things without looking at the human impact it would cause or the drastic effect it had on some peoples careers......GOOD PEOPLE. Won't deny for a minute that I am one of these people who felt totally betrayed by this office. NO, I am not particularly crazy about playing politics, but I will say that I am a damn good Cop, if that means anything anymore. I found out quicker then I ever could have imagined, how fast this office will kick you to the gutter and move you to the damaged goods dept.

I predict unless they promote every whiner in the agency someone will come on here and complain about who got promoted.
